The standard configuration of the Ovation Remote I / 0 Subsystem
requires fiieoptic cables ( with ST connectors ) to connect the MAU
to a remote node .For 850 nm optics , distances of up to 2 km are
supported between the remote nodeand the Controller or a repeater (
up to two repeaters per communications linkor 1300 nm optics ,
distances of up to 4 km are supported between the remote nodeand
the ControllerThe MAU module is ocated in an Ovation KJ3241X1-BAL
Controller cabinet or in a maratWDPF DPU cabinet .
The MAU plugs into a special base unit which canaccommodate up to
two modules per base . The base unit clamps onto the DIN railke
standard / 0 module basesMAU 1 and MAU 2 are two KJ3241X1-BAL
separate MAU modules which may be locatedanywhere in the Controller
cabinet . One Aul cable connects MAU 1 to P1 on thePCRR and a
second Aul cable connects MAU 2 to P2 on the PCRR
This cable allows the KJ3241X1-BAL user to expand local I / 0 to
additional branches by daisychaining connections between either the
Controller backplane or Remote NodeController Transition panel and

This module has 16 digital outputs. The output voltage range is 10
to 30 volt and the maximum continuous output current is 0.5 A. The
outputs are protected against short circuits, over voltage and over
temperature.
The outputs are divided into two individually isolated groups with
eight output channels and one voltage supervision input in each
group. Each output channel consists of a short circuit and over
temperature protected high side driver, EMC protection components,
inductive load suppression, output state indication LED and optical
isolation barrier.
The process voltage supervision input give channel error signals if
the voltage disappears. The error signal can be read through the
ModuleBus. The outputs are current limited and protected against
over temperature. If the outputs are overloaded the output current
will be limited.
