Description of 1791DS-IB16

The 1791DS-IB16 is a CompactBlock Guard I/O DeviceNet Allen-Bradley Safety Module featuring 16 single-channel inputs. The Allen-Bradley 1791DS-IB16 CompactBlock DeviceNet Module has operation voltage that ranges from 19.2 to 28.8 Volts DC with a nominal voltage of 24 Volts DC. It also features a DeviceNet power voltage between 11 and 25 Volts DC. The I/O DeviceNet safety module consists of up to 16 current sinking safety inputs plus another 16 current sourcing pulse test outputs with protection against short-circuiting. The 1791DS-IB16 has an input current of about 1.3 mA while in the off-state, and it also goes to as low as 3.3 mA while in the on-state.

On the other hand, the 1791DS-IB16’s input voltage tends to go up to 5 Volts DC while in the off-state and sometimes falls to a low voltage of around 11 Volts DC while in the on-state.
